BRADFORD — Douglas Evan Bradford died peacefully Sept. 2, 2022, at Cornerstone Hospice surrounded by his compassionate nurses and wife.

He was born May 15, 1945, in Alexandria, Va., to the late Alan Powell Bradford and Ruth Utz Bradford.

Surviving family members include his wife, Janet Cressman Bradford of Mount Dora, Fla.; brother, Kenneth Bradford (Kathy); two nieces and two nephews of Alexandria, Va.; and brothers-in-law, Warren “Rick” Cressman and Stephen Cressman of Orlando, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Bradford, and stepmother, Marguerite McFarland Bradford, both of Alexandria, Va.

Douglas graduated from Virginia Tech as a physics major and was employed by the Lockheed Corporation for 35 years living in Sunnyvale, Calif., Edinburgh, Scotland, and an original member of the Lockheed team at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay, Ga. He enjoyed his work with Lockheed and considered his co-workers as family members and very close friends. Douglas’ hobbies included woodworking, golfing, fishing and traveling the U.S. in his RV.

The family extends their gratitude to Clermont Cornerstone Hospice in Florida and their wonderful nurses, Beth, Julie and Belinda, for their extreme compassionate care during his last days.

A memorial service will commence in St. Marys, Ga., at a later date.
