Miss Latoya Denise James was born April 5, 1984, in Brunswick to the proud parents of Betty Jean James and the late Mr. Carlos James Sr. 

Latoya, affectionately known as Toya, attended the Camden County schools and graduated in the class of 2004 from Camden County High School. 

Toya was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Lakita James; her father, Carlos James Sr.; and great-great-grandmother, Ms. Eunice Grant. 

Toya departed this life on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Toya was full of life and was the life of the party. She loved social gatherings with her friends and especially her family. She loved life and all it had to offer. She continued to find ways to better herself and the people around her. She had an infectious smile that would brighten your day. She was a loving mother to her daughter. 

She was employed at LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Kingsland. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving mother, Betty Jean James; a beautiful and adorable daughter, Ca’nasha Nevaeh Patrice James; her identical twin sister, Latonya Patrice James; her brothers, Carlos James Jr., twins Demetrius and Dominique James; maternal grandmother, Juanita Short; her nieces and nephew, Destiny James, Tyana James, Alayah James, Shaniyah Morris-Roberts, Ameiah James, Demetrius James Jr., Alanna James and Sienna James; a host of aunts and uncles, and other relatives; a special and loving companion, Rueben Hutchinson; and her close friends Chardae Johnson, Daphne Boulware and Jennifer Benjamin. 

There will be a viewing held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 14, at M.D. Knight Mortuary in the Kenny Knight Memorial Chapel. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Impact Worship Center, 1000 E King Ave. Kingsland. Dr. Mack De’Von Knight officiating.
