Lila is survived by her husband of 32 years, Frank Farmer.
For more than 30 years, Lila worked for the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) as a consultant and meeting logistics officer. Her boss, Noah Brown, stated that she was fiercely independent.
Her interests were spending time walking and playing with her Labradors, gardening, swimming, fishing, jet skiing, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
Lila was a devoted, caring, loving wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Claire Cowan; father, Paul Brown; and brother, Paul Brown Jr.
Left behind are her devoted family members: sisters, Christine Clark of St. Marys and Karen Young of Bristow, Va.; brothers, Edward Brown of Woodbridge, Va., Tony Brown of Bristow, Va., and Michael Smith of Machias, Maine. Also, brothers-in-law, Paul Farmer Sr. of Loudoun, Va., Ronald Farmer of Manassas, Va., and Roger Kidwell of Elizabeth City, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Holly Farmer of Loudoun, Va., Diane Kidwell of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Amy Brown of Bristow, Va.; uncles, Joe Ryan of North Reading, Mass., and Jimmy Ryan of Exeter, N.H.; and aunt, Elaine Silvia of Cape Cod, Mass.

Also left behind are her loving Labrador companions, Hunter, Ketch and Flash. Her beloved Labrador, Che-Che, predeceased her.
A memorial service and “Celebration of Life for Lila” will be held Saturday, June 14, at the VFW Post Hall in Clarksville, Va. More information will be posted closer to June 14.
