Born September 19, 1949, in Nahunta, he was the son of the late Aaron and Nona Harris Saddler.
David had been employed with J.A. Jones Company at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Americus.
He was a philosophical soul and nature lover who marched to his own drummer. He was a gentle and loving man who had a musical laugh and always had a big smile to welcome everyone. No one ever heard David talk negatively about anyone. He had a kind heart and was always willing to reach out and help his fellow man. Friends and family and all God’s "critters" will sorely miss him.
Survivors include his two sisters, Betty Jean Thomas (Ralph) of Americus and Frances Saddler McNeely (Jack) of Americus; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Americus.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to Laurel Oaks Animal Hospital, 5775 Laurel Island Parkway, Kingsland, GA 31548.
Allison Memorial Chapel of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
