Christine was born April 24, 1960 in Decatur, Ill. She had been a resident of Camden County since 1993, and was employed with Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus for the past 22 years.
She was a member of St. Marys United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir, taught Sunday school class, past president of the UMU, team leader for the middle school girls group and was associated with the ASP adult mission trips. She was also a member of the historical society, very active with Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, March 28, from Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys. The family will receive friends at 4 p.m., one hour prior to services.
Survivors include her four sons, Jon David Bunten and Lionel Travis Bunten, both of Hampton, Va., Steven Matthew Bunten of St. Marys and Anthony Scott Bunten of Pa.; mother, Almitta Brooks of Ellsinore, Mo.; father and step-mother, Gail and Karolyn Nein of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Brenda Maurine Nein (Henry) of Woodbine, Jennifer Diann Hicks (Mark) of Ellsinore, Mo.; brother, Kenneth Frank Nein (Michelle) of Hunnington Beach, Calif.; fiance, Steven Freeman of St. Marys; grandchildren, Ellie Bunten, Logan Bunten and Levi Bunten; nieces, Lauren, Lacey, Olivia, Katherine and Hailey; and nephews, Alvie, Nathaniel and Gregory.
The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Christine be made to Relay for Life.
