Tonya Derie Vannoy
Tonya Derie Vannoy, 49, of Harrietts Bluff in Woodbine, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at her residence.

Tonya was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., on June 10, 1964. She had resided in Camden County since 2006, and was a certified nursing assistant in the medical field. Tonya was very dedicated in her work place, and was loved by all whom she worked with and came in contact with.

She enjoyed playing games, reading and especially playing bingo, which was her most favorite. Tonya was very much respected and loved by all who knew her, especially her family. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister and grandmother.

A celebration of Tonya’s life was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 23, from Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, with Rev. Richard Fields officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Ricky A. Vannoy of Harrietts Bluff; mother, Lois Walker Sockwell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; children, Ricky A. Vannoy II of Harrietts Bluff, Dustin A. Vannoy of Panama City, Fla.; and Jessica D. Sockwell of Harrietts Bluff; brothers, Cecil Sockwell, Jerry Sockwell, Billy Sockwell, and Art Sockwell; sisters, Rita Shaw, Brenda Holland, Michelle Silvas, Rafie Duenow and Leslie Sickler; grandchildren, Gabriella Sockwell and Scarlett Tran; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, R.C. Sockwell.

Allison Memorial Chapel of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
