Joann was born Jan. 3, 1953, to the late Chris Mainor Jr. and Lucinda Young in White Oak. She was educated in the public schools of Camden County, graduating in the Class of 1971. She joined Jerusalem No. 1 Baptist Church as a young adult serving on the usher board for many years.
In addition to her mother, Lucinda Young Jordan (Eddie Lee Scipp) of Folkston, she leaves cherished memories to one son, Marcus Lucas Sr. (LaTonya) of Georgia; six grandchildren, Demetrius Gibbs, Tavaris (Marquitta) Hamilton, Marcus Lucas Jr., Markaisha Lucas, Markayla Lucas and Markavis Lucas; three great-grandchildren, Tavaris Hamilton Jr., Tramarion Hamilton and Mariah Hamilton; five sisters, Roberta Henry of Folkston, Varish Mainor of Jacksonville, Fla., Sherry (Eric) Tooley of Jacksonville, Fla.; Venus and Venease Mainor of Atlanta; four brothers, Robert Wayne (Doll) Spatcher of Brunswick, Victor Mainor of Chicago, Michael (Bella) Mainor of San Antonio, Texas and Chris (Angel) Mainor III of North Carolina; four aunts, Marie Hill of Folkston, Laura Robbins of Savannah, Jere (Ike) Williams of Savannah and Ida Copeland of Folkston; seven uncles, Sylvester Parrish, Theodore Parrish and James (Nyanza) Parrish, all of Savannah, Jerry Young of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Leotis (Bertha) Parrish of White Oak, Jacob Parrish of White Oak, and Clifford (Joann) Mainor of Woodbine; goddaughter, Kendra (Terrance) Holmes of Brunswick; special friends, Minister Ada Joseph, Mary Ann Zow, Eunice Wilson and Josalyn Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Jerusalem No. 1 Baptist Church, White Oak. A visitation will be held Friday at the Sunset Chapel. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
