Mr. Bernard Vincent Viellenave, 87, of Kingsland passed away Monday morning, April 21, 2014, at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, Fla.

Mr. Viellenave was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on April 23, 1926. He is the son of the late Joseph and Rosetta Howard Viellenave.

He was a World War II veteran stationed at Adak, Alaska, and a retired corrections officer with the Nevada State Prison System.

Bud enjoyed fishing, camping, horses, old cars and beautiful Lake Tahoe. Bud enjoyed spending most of his time with his family and exploring places together.

Mr. Viellenave is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia G. Viellenave; his daughters, Sharon Viellenave of Kingsland and Ashley Rose (Michael) Halliday of St. Marys and Virginia; his sons, Vincent James Viellenave of Kingsland and Randall Joseph Viellenave of Martinez, Calif.; his brother, Howard Viellenave in Oregon; and his grandsons, Jean Pierre ‘J.P.’ Viellenave in Los Angeles, and Joseph Frances Viellenave in Radford, Va.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Curtis presiding. Burial and military honors will be rendered at 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Haymond Cemetery in Kanawha Head in Upshur County, W.Va.

Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland is entrusted with Mr. Viellenave’s arrangements.
