On Monday, April 28, 2014, God saw fit to call home yet another soldier. Sister Elnora “Noby” Tyson Jackson passed away at the Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

“Ms. Noby” was born on March 2, 1928, to the late James Tyson and Victoria Harris Tyson in St. Marys.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Johnnie Jackson and a daughter, Ruby Lee Fuller.

She was educated in the school system of Camden County. Ms. Elnora was affectionately known by her family and close friends as “Ms. Noby” and was the wife of the late Johnnie Jackson.

In her earlier years, she was employed with King Shrimp Company in Brunswick, and spent many of her later years as a homemaker. Ms. Noby enjoyed embroidery, exercising and visiting with her family and friends. She attended church at First African Baptist Church in St. Marys and St. Paul AME Church in Kingsland.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Deloris Brown of Hinesville; one son, John Tyson of Maryland; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held at noon on Tuesday, May 6, at First African Baptist Church, located at 812 Wheeler St. in St. Marys. Interment was at Kingsland City Cemetery.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Royal Funeral Home, Inc. in Jesup.
