William Daniel “Danny” Andrews
William Daniel “Danny” Andrews, 56, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 4, 2014. He was the son of the late Daniel and Annette Andrews of St. Marys.

Danny is survived by his wife of 36 years, Donna Mixon Andrews of St. Marys, and daughters Michelle Andrews, Amy Hilliard-Thompson (Sean Thompson) and Emily Andrews, all of St. Marys. He was preceded in death by son Joey Andrews. He is also survived by sister Donna Andrews Rogers (Sam Rogers) of Yulee, Fla., and sister Terri Thomas (Wayne Thomas) of Texas; six grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Danny was a lifelong St. Marys resident and a 1976 graduate of Camden County High School. He married his high school sweetheart in 1978. He was employed with Daniel Andrews Construction for years, and then worked 23 years for Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base contractors. He moved on to Hunter Air Field and Fort Stewart over the past several years as a boiler mechanic, stationary engineer.

He attended Westside Baptist Church, Camden Baptist Church and Coastal Baptist Church with his family during his short life. He coached many years for the Camden recreation department boys’ baseball and football teams, and also girls’ softball teams. Danny took his children’s teams to state all-stars several times during that time in his life.

Danny will be terribly missed by his family and all who knew him.

A funeral service was held Saturday, June 7, at Camden Baptist Church. Callahan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
