Wanza LaNorris Butler was born July 1, 1963, in Brunswick to Irene Butler and Clifton Butler Sr. He was raised in Tarboro and he attended Camden County Schools. He graduated from Camden County High School in 1982.

Wanza was a long-term and loyal employee at Community Asphalt in Vero Beach, Fla., under the management of a devoted boss, Charles "Ray" Mothershead Jr.

Wanza was called to his eternal home by the heavenly Father on March 22, 2016, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:1-3)

Wanza leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Natalie Bullard (mother Angela) of Kingsland; siblings, Ada Bell Hamilton (Nathan Sr.) of Woodbine; Krystal Butler-Whiters of Kingsland; Janice Butler of Macomb Township, Mich.; Clifton Butler Sr. (Vernecia) of Woodbine; Charles Butler Sr. (Karen) of Brunswick; Lucretia Butler of Decatur; one great-uncle; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at First African Baptist Church in Kingsland.
