Winnie Lee Clark Carter, 85, of Waverly passed away early in the morning of Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Woodbine, her parents were Jacob and Agnes Head Clark. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eugene Carter; a son, Glenn Carter; and a grandson, Little Glenn Carter.
Winnie was a homemaker who loved animals, fishing, shopping and riding four-wheelers.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Tommy and Gwen Carter of Hortense, Timmy Carter of Waverly and David Carter (Joey Carroll) of Brunswick; three daughters, Anita Chandler and Melinda Briggs, both of Woodbine, and Angie Carter of Waverly; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Buddy Clark of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine with Rev. Tyler Harper officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Chandler, Andrew Chandler, Anthony Chandler, Edward Briggs, Logan Harper, Tucker Harper, Phillip Marr, Donnie Pearson and Matt Carter.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home of Nahunta.
