Cherry Hodges Casey, 75, of St. Marys passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born June 23, 1943 in Columbia, S.C., she was the daughter of the late John Kennedy Hodges and the late Isabelle Simmons Hodges. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Caroline P. Hodges.
Mrs. Casey had been a resident of Camden County since 2004 and was a member of Agape Christian Fellowship Church. She was an avid reader and loved playing cards with her many friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother (Mimi).
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Agape Christian Fellowship Church, 10600 Colerain Road in St. Marys, with Pastor Jonny Rodgers officiating. Interment will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Louie C. Casey of St. Marys; children, Robert Casey (Robin) of Woodstock, Bryan Casey (Dineen) of Greenwood, S.C., David Casey (Jennifer) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ann Closs (Howard) of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; sister, Elizabeth Hodges of High Springs, Fla.; brother, John Hodges (Carla), of Miami, Fla.; sister-in-law, Orene Casey Duke (Archie) of Social Circle; eight grandsons; five granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any contributions be made in memory of Cherry Casey to Agape Christian Fellowship Church.
