Billy Zane Chandler, 75, formerly of Kingsland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in Gainesville, Fla.
Mr. Chandler was born in Jasper, Ala., on Jan. 4, 1943. He was a resident of Tucker for most of his life and served in the United States Army at Fort Benning, Fort Campbell in Kentucky, Japan and Korea. He was in the Carpenters Union Local 225 in Atlanta for 30 years. He was a resident of Tucker and Kingsland and spent his last remaining years in Gainesville.
Bill is survived by his devoted friend and ex-wife, Judy Chandler; mother, Christine Hood; children, Dawn (Neil) Ford, Jessie (Gayla) Chandler, John (Donna) Chandler, Bonnie Hill and Sandra (Richard) Moore; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Robert Porter Chandler; and brothers, Jerry Chandler and Ronnie Chandler.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Allison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Edward Dixon officiating and with military honors.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
