Mr. John Lloyd Davis Jr. passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 from heart failure at his home in Kingsland.
John L. was born on Nov. 17, 1955, in Waycross to Della Davis and the late John Lloyd Davis Sr. He grew up and attended schools in Waycross and Ware County. After moving to Brunswick for a few years, he moved to Kingsland where he lived for the remainder of his life.

He loved his family and enjoyed making them laugh. Indeed, laughter was his gift and he shared generously with all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Della Chaney Davis; his brother, Wesley N. (Linda) Davis of Brunswick; his sisters, Joyce Davis (Roy) Versele of St. Marys and Juanita Davis (Chuck) Clark of Woodbine; his four nieces, Shona Davis (Jeff) Crozier and family of Pinnacle, N.C., Sara Clark, Lindsey Clark and Hannah Clark of Woodbine; his two nephews, Dr. Wes (Michele) Davis and family of Anderson, S.C., and Robert (Carolyn) Versele and family of Atlanta; and his dear friend, Rose Webster of Kingsland.
Besides his father, John L. was preceded in passing by his paternal grandparents, Avner and Nora Davis, and maternal grandparents, Harmon and Margaret Chaney.
John L.’s family will honor his life in a memorial service at a later date.
“Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word,” Luke 2:29.
