Jacqueline (Jackie) Cecile Denis-Fish, 75, passed away peacefully at her home in St. Marys with her loving husband by her side on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1943, in Norwich, Conn., to the late Merilda and Alfred Denis. She graduated from Griswold High School. She married her soul mate, Terrence Fish, on July 21, 1962, in Jewett City, Conn.
She went on to work as a very successful administrative assistant at Backus Hospital for 15 years and at the United States federal civil service for 10 years.
She was lovingly nicknamed “Grandma” by everyone who knew her and adored by all. She loved to knit and sew beautiful pieces and spend quality time with her friends and family — especially going to yard sales with her granddaughter, Charlene! Jackie loved spending time with her beautiful dog, Auggie, and cat, Mike.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Merilda and Alfred Denis; and siblings, Lucy Denis, Doris Sadowski and Tom Denis.
Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Terrence Fish; daughters Candy Fish, Kim (William) Trantalis, Stacey (Rick) Mendez and Michelle Fish; brother, George Denis; sister, Yvette (Bill) Gordon; grandchildren, Danielle (Dan) Mikulak, Jennifer Trantalis, Ashlynn (Zack) Highsmith, Charlene Storey and Anthony Storey; and great-grandchildren, Ayden Highsmith, Kaleb Highsmith and Olivia Mikulak.
A celebration of life will be held in Jewett City, Conn., in 2019.
