Pearl (Hurey) Dombroski, 95, passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 27, 2016.
Carnegie, Pa., was her home for 88 years until she decided to move closer to family. Then she found a second home at Magnolia Manor in St. Marys. She aged without illness, always maintaining her sharp mind and feisty, independent spirit. She was kind to everyone and judgmental of none. Her crocheted shawls are cherished by all and her skill at playing cards is legendary.
Pearl was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John W. Dombroski.
Surviving her are their daughters, Gloria Jean (Dave) Dengler of St. Marys and Marcia (Bob) Dunham of Prescott, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three of her nine siblings, Lillian Nicholl of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Helen Lugin of Oakdale, Pa.; Jean Prandini of Hawaii; sister-in-law Dee (Stan) Marszalek of Lakewood, N.J.; and many nephews and nieces, especially Carol (Ray) Price whom she helped raise.
A memorial service will be held at Magnolia Manor. Interment will be in Pennsylvania at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Magnolia Manor St. Marys, 4695 Charlie Smith Sr. Highway, St. Marys, GA 31558.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
