Richard David Durham, 40, of Kingsland died Monday evening (Oct. 28, 2019) at Hospice of the Golden Isles after an extended illness.
Mr. Durham was born in Oceanside, Calif., to Richard Durham and the late Sharon LaVon Zetko Durham and had just recently moved to Kingsland. He was a Seattle Seahawks fanatic and could work the grill when entertaining family and friends at a barbecue. He enjoyed playing video games, especially Call of Duty, but his true passion was his family which he loved dearly and all the time he got to spend with them.
Mr. Durham served his country by joining the United States Navy where he served for 21 years making rank as senior chief. He was stationed all over the country from Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island, Groton, Conn., and would always look out for his men.
Mr. Durham is survived by his wife, Lynette Durham of Kingsland; three children, Naomi Durham, Kalicia Durham and RJ Durham all of Kingsland; his father, Richard Durham; five siblings, Cindy Bradly (husband Mark) of South Dakota, Mary Cohen of South Dakota, Sally Myrick (husband Bob) of California, Robert Durham (fiancee Mandy) of California, Randy Durham (wife Ashley) of Kingsland; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. A reception for family and friends will follow at Christ Church in St. Marys. Pastor Romey Luke will officiate the service.
