Billy Findley, 82, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born July 13, 1933, in Lyons, he was the son of the late Harley J. and Willie A. Davis Findley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lamar Findley and Leo Findley.
Billy had lived in Camden County most all of his life. He was retired from Georgia Power Company with 33 years of service. He was a past member of the Kingsland Lions Club, member of Westside Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing with his Georgia Power friends through the years and was an avid Braves and Bulldog fan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Findley of Jesup; son, Donnie Findley of Troy, Mich.; three daughters, Debbie Jeffers of Fleming Island, Fla., Beth Botts (Jason) of Ladson, S.C., and Faith Vincent (Wendell) of Summerville, S.C.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several stepchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Westside Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Gentry officiating and with visitation one hour prior to the service time. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Old Fellowship Baptist Churchyard Cemetery in Brooklet with military honors.
