Albert G. Fortier, 91, of Granby, Mass., passed away on Dec. 13, 2018.
He was born on March 3, 1927, in Holyoke, Mass., to the late Louis and Lea (Loiselle) Fortier. His beloved wife of 50 years Constance (Charest) passed away in 2006.
Albert proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea, earning the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal, National Defense Service Medal (European Clasp) and the Navy Occupation Service Medal.
Albert worked as a laminator for Hazen paper, retiring in 1992.
Albert is survived by his loving son, Paul Fortier and his wife Cynthia of Woodbine; loving daughter, Maryann Sadowski of South Hadley, Mass.; a son, Daniel Fortier and his wife Denise of Sandwich, Mass.; three sisters, Rita Fabricious, Irene Gemme, and Rosianna Ford; five grandchildren, Melinda, Damon, Devin, Daniel and Joshua; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Leilani and Rey. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Alan Fortier; brothers, George and Dolphus Fortier; sisters, Lillian Labonte, Evangeline Thompson, Alberta Neilon and Claire Gannis; and his cherished dog, Khandi.
Albert will be laid to rest with his cherished dog Khandi, alongside his beloved wife and son, and the burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
