Jennifer Diane Carter Hancock, 41, of Folkston went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017.
She was born Jan. 15, 1976, in Waycross to Cathy Woolard O’Berry and Darrell Lloyd Carter. She was a graduate of Charlton County High School class of 1995. Jennifer was a member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church. Jennifer was a beautiful and loving person who was gifted in the art of floral design and a passion for volunteering and serving others.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Noah Carter Strickland; stepfather, James O’Berry of Folkston; grandparents, JoAnn Woolard Sanders of Folkston and Henry Lloyd Carter of Waycross and Calvin and Lula Inman of Jacksonville, Fla.
She is survived by the “light of her life” son, Zachary Scott Strickland of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; mother, Cathy Woolard O’Berry of Folkston; father, Darrell Lloyd Carter of St. Marys; stepdaughter, Taylor Hancock of Panama City, Fla.; brothers, Chris (Nancy) Carter of Folkston, Chad Carter of St. Marys and Arnold (Jenny) O’Berry of Folkston; sisters, Tara Carter of St. Marys, Teresa (Michael) Knowles of Folkston and Denise O’Berry of Folkston; grandfather, Marlin Sanders of Folkston; nephew, Tristan Carter of Orlando, Fla.; nieces, Haley Knowles, Hannah Knowles, Kylie Carter, Kayla Aldridge, all of Folkston, and Kelsie Dover of Yulee, Fla.; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Hall and Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
