Alton “Rusty” Hudson, 55, of Kingsland passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Southeast Georgia Health System in St. Marys.
Born Oct. 16, 1962, in Columbia, Miss., he was the son of the late Alton L. Dixon and Merry Bowles Terry. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Darla Blessitt.
Rusty was a carpenter and roofer by trade and attended Woodbine First Baptist Church. He took pride in his beautiful rose garden and loved making people laugh and smile.
A visitation was held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, and graveside services followed at Lawnwood Cemetery with Pastor Greg Gardell officiating.
Pallbearers were Will Phillips, Skylar Turnage, Timothy Shedd, Michael Alford, Kevin Breeden and Caleb Hudson.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Hudson; nine children, Melissa Rasp (Jason), Oliver Hudson (Cathy), Pamela Hudson (Michael), Alton Hudson (Ashley), Tina Hedgepeth (James), Chris Turnage (Suzie), Skylar Turnage (Margaret), Victoria Dixon (John) and Kymberli Dixon; brother, Clifton Dixon (Lois); three sisters, Annette Harrell (Arthur), Vickie McNeese (Michael) and Judy Sumrall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
