Edward Harold Huett, 65, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., passed away on Feb. 8, 2017, from mesothelioma.
Edward was born on June 12, 1951, in Charleston, S.C. He was a retired a civil service employee and worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in St. Marys. Edward was the president of the Metal Trades Union at the Charleston Naval Shipyard during the time of the base closure.
Edward is survived by his wife, Nancy K. Huett; daughters, Sandra Huett Burke and Elizabeth A. Huett; grandchildren, Claire and Brandon Burke; parents, Eddie and Margaret Huett; and brothers, Yale Huett (Karen) and Allen Huett (Fay).
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sullivan’s Island, S.C. Visitation will follow immediately after the service in the church fellowship hall.
