Thomas J. Hussey, 52, of Kingsland, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.
Born March 4, 1964 in Long Island, N.Y., he had been a resident of Camden County for the past 15 years. He was retired from the United States Navy, serving his country honorably with 20 years of service. Following his retirement he was employed with Vista Billboards/Satilla Temps for eight years. He enjoyed biking, darts and shooting pool. He attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Monday, June 13, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys with Father Brian O’Shaughnessy officiating. A visitation followed until 7 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Hussey of Kingsland; mother, Mary G. Hussey of Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.; sons, Francisco Martinez (Lupe) of Fresno, Calif., and Leon Martinez (Trish) of Florida; three brothers, Kevin Hussey (Lisa) of Nesconset, N.Y., James Hussey (Christie) of O’Fallon, Mo., and John Hussey (Lisa) of Saverna Park, M.D.; four sisters, Kathleen Sermon (Andrew) of Randolph, N.J., Jeannarie Styrnoe of Tucson, Ariz., Rebecca Hussey of Nesconset and Maura Elias (Christopher) of Darien, Conn.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Hussey.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
