Ms. Ruby Mae Hutcherson, 67, of Kingsland passed away Dec. 3, 2018, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1950, in Camden County to the late Hugh and Leiler Gainus. Ms. Ruby graduated from Camden County High School in 1971 and soon entered into the health care field. She started working at Gilman Hospital, now Southeast Georgia Health System, as a certified nursing aide. She later became a licensed practical nurse and remained with the hospital for 36 years.
Ms. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Arisee “Rez” Hutcherson; her sister, Emily Gainus; nephews and nieces, Oliver Johnson Jr., Marilyn Johnson, Darrell Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Evant Gainus and Shannon Johnson.
Besides her parents, Hugh and Leiler, Ms. Ruby joins her brother, Oliver Johnson Sr., in Heaven.
She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
A celebration of Ms. Ruby’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the First African Missionary Baptist Church of Kingsland, located at 495 N. Lee St. in Kingsland. Dr. Yvonne Johnson will be presiding over the service.
