Frank Patrick "Butch" Kennedy Jr., 77, of St. Marys passed away Nov. 18, 2018, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Butch was born Oct. 21, 1941, in Westerly, R.I., to Frank Patrick Kennedy Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Rondeau Kennedy. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean conflict as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne.
Butch was retired from Electric Boat Inc. of Groton, Conn., after 37 years as a nuclear inspector on submarines. Butch loved to golf, was a huge Indianapolis Colts and Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed country music, including Conway Twitty, and was a big fan of old cowboy movies on TV. He was of the Catholic faith and had been a resident of St. Marys since 1999.
Butch is survived by his wife, Robin L. Kennedy of St. Marys; children, Crystal G. Kennedy Allen (William), Sean M. Kennedy and Kimberly A. Kennedy, all of Rhode Island, Kristian L. Kennedy and Frank P. Kennedy III (Deborah), all of St. Marys; a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Tucker (Ralph) of Rhode Island; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and other family.
A service to celebrate Butch's life, will be held at a later date.
