Heather Michelle Scholbe Kirkland, age 38, of St. Marys passed away March 14, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., with her family by her side.
She was born in Homestead, Fla., and grew up in an Army family which allowed her the opportunity to live in several different places, including Germany.
After moving to Pocatello, Idaho, Heather met her husband, Jess Kirkland, to whom she was married for 13 years. They relocated to Moscow, Idaho, where they lived until 2006, and to the Ontario, Ore., and Payette, Idaho, community until 2014. During that time, Heather was part of a support group for people with pulmonary arterial hypertension. She also was an active member of her church, Ontario First Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school, worked with the youth and led a women's bible study.
They moved to St. Marys two years ago where she became an active member of Camden Crossroads Community Church where she also worked with students and taught Sunday school. Above all, Heather was a very loving person, a devoted wife, mother and daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Jess Kirkland, and a daughter, Violet Kirkland, both of St. Marys; parents, Loretta and Roger Scholbe of St. Marys; grandparents, Norma and Chalmer Wren Jr. of Stanton, Texas; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cecelia and Jack Kirkland of Stites, Idaho; brother-in-law, Jeremy Kirkland of Washington; sister-in-law, Melissa Nicholson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; aunt, Virginia Whitehurst of Stanton; and an uncle, Donald Kissinger of Austin, Texas.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine, Fla., is in charge of the arrangements.
