James Ruben Lewis, 58, of Kingsland died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 25, 2018, at the Hospice of the Golden Isles House in Brunswick after an extended illness.
Mr. Lewis was born to the late Johnnie Baxter Lewis and Mary Elizabeth Moody Lewis in Jacksonville, Fla. He was a master plumber and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed being on a boat fishing and loved the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Lewis.
Mr. Lewis is survived by three sisters, Debbie Nichols (Glenn) of Yulee, Fla., Randa Roberts (Rickey) of Jacksonville and Beverly Whitman of Yulee; eight nieces and nephews, Amanda Nichols (Dawn), Melissa Nichols, Jessie Roberts, Megan Roberts, Shayne McCance (Marisa), Andrew McCance, Brandon Whitman and Lawton Harris III; a special family friend, Mike Crowder of Jacksonville; and numerous great-nieces, -nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Waycross. The family will be receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
