James R. “Mickie” McDonnell Jr., 58, of Kingsland passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, from the results of a vehicle accident.
Mickie was born March 13, 1960, in Portsmouth, Va. He had been a resident of Camden County since 2003 and was a machinist supervisor at Trident Refit Facility, Kings Bay. He was an avid baseball and softball player, fisherman, furniture builder, especially loved crossword games and was an Angry Birds expert.
A celebration of Mickie’s life will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.
Survivors include his son, Joshua Cox of Virginia; daughters, Amanda “Mandy” McDonnell and Ashley McDonnell of Florida; father, James R. McDonnell Sr. of Virginia; brother, Patrick McDonnell; sisters, Toni Caulkins and Kellie Blair; fiancée, Christy Denney of Georgia; stepson, Kent Denney of Georgia; grandchildren, Joshua Cox Jr., Brodie Cox, Jacob McDonnell and Lilly Dubberly; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Ann McDonnell.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
