Mrs. Mary Louise McGill, 73, of Virginia Avenue in Woodbine passed away Feb. 2, 2016, at the Morris Center for Caring Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
Mrs. McGill was born in Jacksonville, Fla., on Nov. 11, 1942. She was the daughter of the late John Morgan and Beatrice Annabelle Innes Beasley.
She spent most of her life caring for children in her home daycare and as a paraprofessional at Kingsland Elementary School. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who lived life to the most. It was never dull with her around as she brought lots of fun and joy everywhere she went. One thing she loved most was playing board and card games with everyone in the family. She always had a witty response in every situation that arose. She was a bright, spunky spark in our lives that will be greatly missed.
Mrs. McGill is survived by her beloved husband, Howard McGill; her daughters, Terri Cortez of Jacksonville and Melissa (Michael) Deen of St. Marys; her son, Tim (Wendy) McGill of Kingsland; her sister, Johnnie (Lamar) Hatcher of Jacksonville; her brother, Joe (Karen) Beasley of Jacksonville; her grandchildren, Megan McGill of Kingsland, Corey (Mariah) McGill of Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, Anthony and Julia Russo of Jacksonville and Brandon and Chandler Deen of St. Marys; her great-grandchild, Aubrey Critchley of Kingsland; her sister-in-law, Jan Beasley of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McGill joins her brother, Melvin Beasley, in Heaven.
A visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the First Baptist Church of Woodbine with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Larry Boyette will preside over the service.
