Emily Rollins Morrissey of St. Marys passed away at home peacefully March 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Lake City, S.C., Emily and her husband Frank have called St. Marys home for the past 15 years.
Emily was preceded in death by her father, William G. Rollins, and mother, Anne G. Rollins.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Frank D. Morrissey of St. Marys; daughter, Fran Skipper (Phillip), and son, Bo Morrissey (Molly) of Franklin, Tenn.; and sister, Susan Herndon (Warren) of Lexington, S.C. She leaves behind four beautiful grandchildren who affectionately called her Meme, Lucy and Reynolds Skipper and Blakely and Libby Morrissey. Also surviving are her brothers- and sister-in-law, John, Patrick, Michael and Angie Morrissey.
Emily graduated in education from The College of Charleston and was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. She received a master’s degree in speech pathology. Over the years, she helped hundreds of children through speech therapy and had a passion and lifelong commitment to education. Emily will be remembered for being a great servant to her church and community through Stephen Ministry, singing in the church choir and treating everyone she met with a loving heart.
