Betty Cross Murray, 85, of White Oak passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
Born Jan. 9, 1932, in Laurel Hill, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Mattie Lee Cross. She was also preceded in death by her son, Timothy Cross Murray, and twin great-granddaughters, Paisley and Macey Crews.
Mrs. Murray had been a resident of Camden County since 1960. She was the owner and operator of Little Bee Hive florist in Kingsland for 10 years and later taught preschool and kindergarten for many years. She touched so many of her students’ lives and loved every one of them. She was a professional grandmother and will be missed and loved by her family. She was a member of the Kingsland First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bewick Murray Jr. of White Oak; daughter, Tami M. Crews (Mark) of White Oak; grandchildren, Brandon Crews, Ethan Crews (Dakota) and Miranda Crews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys with Pastor Steve Curtis officiating. Burial to follow at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Allison Memorial Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Mark Crews, Mark Schweitzer, Ethan Crews, Brandon Crews, Edward Bruce and Ben Cleghorn.
