James Derrell Peacock went to be with the Lord on Aug. 27, 2018.
He was born to James Lester and Eula Mae Peacock on July 30, 1950, in Waycross.
He is survived by his daughter, Erika Elaine Kufner (Kerry) of Orange City, Fla.; granddaughter, Jamie Elaine Guppy; great-grandson, Jadin of Melrose, Fla.; and sister, Delsie Mae Aldridge (Gilbert) of St. Marys; one niece; two nephews; and a son, Joey Murphy of Waycross.
He loved boating, fishing and traveling. He served in the Army and had been a supervisor at the post office.
A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd. in Orange City, Fla. A second memorial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the First Baptist Church, 102 W. Weed St. in St. Marys. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
