Eva Mae Pendleton, 92, of St. Marys passed into eternal life on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at Senior Care Center in St. Marys.
She was born April 10, 1926, in Charleston, S.C., and was the daughter of the late Harley J. Turner and the late Effie E. Murrell Turner.
In her younger life, she worked as an administrative secretary at the Charleston Naval Shipyard while married to Herman B. Bostick, who passed away in service to our country. She married her life mate, Hugh Pendleton on Dec. 10, 1960, and lovingly dedicated her life to her husband, children, family and all of the “little people” she tended throughout the years who knew and loved her as “Miss Mae.” Her light will continue to burn bright in all of the hearts that came to know her.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, the Senior Care Center of St. Marys, and to everyone who helped her feel comfortable and loved.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Pendleton was preceded in death by her brother, James Turner; and a son, John C. Bostick.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Hugh C. Pendleton; son, Robert H. Pendleton (Tamara) of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia T. Hval of Connecticut and Linda G. Barlow of Rhode Island; sister, Betty Kennedy of South Carolina; brother, Harry Turner of Indiana; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Paul McClellan and Thora Blount of St. Marys.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys with Pastor Edward Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. A private burial will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested by the family to be made in memory of Mrs. Pendleton to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525 or The Camden County Alzheimer's Walk, ATTN: Dianne Torgersen, 1100 Dilworth St., St. Marys, GA 31558.
