Jackie W. Pierce, 79, of Harrietts Bluff passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016.
Born July 13, 1937, in Baxley, he was the son of the late Idus and Bertha Pierce. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Allene Gay Pierce, and brother, Bobby Pierce.
Mr. Pierce had resided in Camden County most all of his life and was retired from Terminal Paper Bag Company with 43 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and visiting with friends.
Survivors include his son, Keith Pierce (Jeannie) and daughter Kathy Brown (Gary) all of Harrietts Bluff; sister, Ruthell Werts of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Pete Pierce of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brittni Brown, Kody Pierce and Kaleb Pierce; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the graveside in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Allison Memorial Chapel.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys was in charge of arrangements.
