Bobby E. Pittman, 85, of Hawthorne passed from this life on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was a native of Sanderson, Fla., and had lived in Putnam County for the past 20 years coming from St. Marys. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Woodlawn Baptist Church. He was a member of Fleet Reserve and a life member of VFW. Bobby loved fishing, hunting and playing poker, but most of all his family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Beth Pittman; children, Susan James (David), Ricky Pittman (Ann) and Beverly Bennett (Richard); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Johnson-Overturf Interlachen Chapel with Pastor Martin Turner officiating. Burial followed in Pineview Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
