Edwin (Ed) John Pollock was born on April 2, 1952, in Cohoes, N.Y., to Ed and Rose Pollock. He departed this earth at his home on Nov. 13, 2018, after a long illness.
Ed grew up in North Branford, Conn., attended school there and joined the Air Force after graduating high school. After two enlistments, Ed left the Air Force to attend VSU, graduating in 1985.
Ed and his family moved to St. Marys in 1987 so that Ed could start a job with Lockheed. He worked for Lockheed for 30 years only to retire this past April.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Svea and their family: daughter, Rebecca DeVane, her husband Thomas and their children Savannah and Travis; and son, Damian Blalock, his wife Amy and their boys Cam and Web. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael (Joan), John Pollock (Michelle) and Richard Pollock (Robin); a host of nieces and nephews; and, of course, all of his dear friends. We will all miss him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
