Maisha Naomi Roberts, 39, of Kingsland passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at her home.
She was born on July 2, 1976, to Evelyn Roberts-Franks in Jacksonville, Fla. Maisha was educated in the public school system of Camden County and graduated in the Class of 1994. She also attended the University of West Georgia College in Carrollton.
She was a member of Eagle's Wings Judah Worship Center in St. Marys under the leadership of Bishop Patrick Ford. Maisha loved cooking and shopping but enjoyed spending time with family and friends even that much more.
Before her health began to fail, Maisha was employed at Option 1 Mortgage Company in Jacksonville. She was a kind and loving person that everyone loved and her presence will be missed among all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Virgil and Essie Roberts; her uncles, LeConia and Tommie Roberts; and an aunt, Ruth Roberts.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted mother, Evelyn Roberts-Franks (Curtis Cummings), St. Marys; her sister, Laquisha Roberts, Kingsland; her godson, Ziere Lattany, St. Marys; three aunts, one that shared a special bond of closeness, Carol (George) Morrison, Brunswick, Barbara (Wendell) Hubbard, Inglewood, Calif., and Peggy (John) Kennedy, Bainbridge; her uncle, Jerry (Cheryl) Smith, St. Marys; her great-uncles, Gerald (Betty) Roberts, St. Marys, and Harvey (Willie) Campbell, Atlanta; her great-aunt and godmother, Thelma Myers, Kingsland; special cousins, LaKeisha (Donnie) Paul, Independence, Kan., and Eric (Vickie) Campbell, Jacksonville; her nephews, Shai and Shaad Smith as well as other cousins and other friends.
There will not be a wake/visitation. Remains will lie in state an hour prior to services.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at First A.B. Baptist Church in Kingsland. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. Repast will be held at Greater Trinity United Methodist Church in St. Marys.
