Shawvon Tranell “NEW” Roberts, 28, of Kingsland passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. He was born on Feb. 23, 1989, to Virgil L. Waye and Beverly Roberts in Camden County. Shawvon received his education in the Camden County public school system and continued his education at Odyssey Training Center in South Carolina and Turner Job Corp. in Albany.
Shawvon was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Aldophus Roberts and Virgil Waye Sr., and a grandmother, Pearlie Mae Waye.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother, Beverly Roberts-Davis (Charles) of Harleyville, S.C.; his father, Virgil Waye Jr. of Kingsland; his loving grandmother, Rosa Lee Roberts of Kingsland; his loving daughter, Shaniyah Roberts of St. Marys; five brothers, Shawntrel Spead, Jerrell Davis and Juan Davis all of Harleyville and Keron Waye and Virgil Waye III (Ebony) both of Kingsland; four sisters, Tabitha Harris of Alexandria, La., Yanquivia Gibbs of Kingsland, Crystal Davis of Harleyville and Latresha (Gregory) Davison of Summervilles, S.C.; his fiancee, Paige Fellows of Folkston; two special aunts, Miriam Broomfield of Kingsland and Vanessa Spead of Pensacola, Fla.; his godmother, Pastor Lenora White of Woodbine; six special friends, Domonique Hargrave, Darius Sullivan, Damien Green, Tarus Gibbs, Dionisio Cox and Centauris Simon; and a host of aunts, uncles, great-aunts and great-uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A wake/visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Georgia Avenue Church of God in Kingsland.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1365 Kinlaw Road in Woodbine. Interment will be in Kinlaw Cemetery.
