Claude “Kenny Boy” Roche, 52, of Woodbine passed away on July 28, 2017, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus, following a brief illness.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1964, to the late Robert Roche Jr. and Eva Sue Beasley Roche in St. Marys. Kenny Boy, as he was affectionately known among the community and friends, was educated in the public school system of Camden County and graduated in the class of 1982 from Camden County High School. He became a member of Jerusalem No. 1 Baptist Church at an early age and was still a member at his time of death.
Kenny Boy was well loved and would do anything he could to help anyone in need. He was a former employee of Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base where he was employed as a construction worker.
Claude was preceded in death by both parents, Robert and Eva Sue Roche Jr.; and a sister, Melody Roche.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a longtime companion of 30 years, Evelyn Nobles of Woodbine; two sons, Lionel Roche of Texas and Javan Robinson of St. Marys; two granddaughters, Janelle Nightingale and Le'loni Roche, both of Woodbine; his sisters, Teresa Clark, Kingsland, Ga., Juanetta (Nathan) Mack of White Oak, Angela (Chris) Way of Brunswick and Charlene Tyson; his brothers, David (Shannon) Roche of Kingsland, Lester (Judy) Wilson of Folkston, David Williams and Sedrick Grant; his uncles, Leroy (Carmen) Holmes of South Carolina and Jean (Diane) Roche of Savannah; his aunts, Amy Lee White of Woodbine, Barbara Jean Kellogg of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Carrie Lee (Robert) Woodard of White Oak and Dorothy Reed of Folkston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Jerusalem No. 1 Baptist Church in White Oak. Repast immediately following services.
