Annie Pearl (Watts) Rollins, age 94, passed away on April 10, 2016, at her residence.
She was born in Wrightsville on March 15, 1922. She and her family moved from Brunswick to St. Marys in 1959. She worked at Gilman Paper Company and Kraft Bag Division where she retired after more than 20 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially playing Sorry with them. She will be remembered for her great wit and always making people laugh. Not many people could get anything over on her. She loved fishing and dancing and she loved the Lord.
Annie Pearl was the daughter of the late James and Annie Clements. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Willie “Melvin” Watts Sr.; her second husband, Ray Rollins; four children, Annie Watts, Geneva Watts, Willie Melvin “Dub” Watts Jr. and Willie Nell Anderson; two granddaughters, Marlene Watts and Mandi Whitson; and nine siblings.
Survivors include her children Joyce (Paul) Ruble of Waycross, Marilyn Whitson of Ocala, Fla., Cleveland Watts of St. Marys, Melba (Steve) Roberts of Folkston and Tammy (Kevin) White of Alford, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14, with funeral services following at noon at Pearson-Dial Funeral Home in Blackshear. Interment will be at 3 p.m. in the Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Grady Thornton Jr., Craig Nixon, Blair Nixon, Scottie Gale, C.J. Watts, Carlton Roberts, David Roberts and Keith White.
Honorary pallbearers are some of her great-grandsons, Charles Thornton, William Thornton, Shane Thornton, Wayne Comdeco, Randy Peacock Sr., Raymond Nevers, Gene Thornton, T.J. Roberts, Whitney Newcomb, Paul Nixon, Cody Nixon and Tyler Nixon.
