Constance “Connie” L. Smith, 83, of St. Marys passed away Jan. 11, 2017, at her residence.
Born Feb. 17, 1933, in Holyoke, Mass., she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Pleau. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wendell E. Smith; daughter, Cindy Bradley; and sister, Mary Salois.
Mrs. Smith worked most of her life in retail, and raised her children in Southwick, Mass., prior to moving to St. Marys. Since retirement she enjoyed going on cruises, working on puzzles, painting and spending time with friends at the St. Marys Senior Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Varley-Puza of Chester, Mass.; two sons, Scott Smith of Kingsland and Todd Smith (Kristin) of St. Marys; brother, Cal Pleau (Pauline) of Ocala, Fla.; sister-in-law, Priscilla Balch of Jacksonville, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Christ’s Church Camden with Pastor Scott Clevenger officiating. An inurnment will be held at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
