Cecilia Agnes Spangler, 83, of Kingsland, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, at UF Health Shands in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born Aug. 8, 1933, in Peabody, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John and Cecelia LaFreniere. She was also predeceased in death by her husband, Martin Spangler.
Mrs. Spangler had been a resident of Camden County since 1957, and had been employed with Gilman Hospital as a purchasing agent for 14 years. She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Mrs. Spangler was a past president of the Gilman Hospital Auxiliary, and member of Christ Episcopal Church, also serving as past president of Women of Christ Episcopal.
Survivors include her three sons, John Spangler (Jan) of Kingsland, Luke Spangler (Debbie) of St. Marys, and Matthew Spangler of Moseley, Va.; brother, Charles LaFreniere (Sylvia) of Zephyrhills, Fla.; five grandchildren, Sean, Bobby, Casey, Jeffrey and LeeAnn, nine great grandchildren.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5 at Allison Memorial Chapel.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6 at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, with the Rev. Dedre Bell officiating.
