Mrs. Stella Faye Strickland, 69, went home to be with the Lord the morning of Monday June 19, 2017, at her home in Kingsland surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Strickland was born Feb. 7, 1948, in Ambrose to the late Jimmie Lee Snipes and Janie Jones Snipes Ricketson. Her late stepfather, Jeff Ricketson, was also a big part of her life.
Her family said of her, “Faye was a 1967 graduate of Camden County High School. Faye and her family relocated to Woodbine in 1962. She was a devoted member of Paxton Revival Center in Jacksonville, Fla., until her health failed her. She loved being a housewife and mother to her two sons. On sunny days, you could find Faye working in her yard and flower beds. She loved to plant flowers and watch them bloom. She loved to witness to people about the Lord.”
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Roger Strickland of Kingsland; her sons, Dale Strickland and Doug Strickland, both of Kingsland; she will forever be missed by her sister, Vicki (Edward) Aldridge of Woodbine; her brothers, Jimmie (Marilyn) Snipes of Yulee, Fla., Donald Snipes of St. Marys, Jerry (Cindy) Snipes of Homeland and Danny (Debbie) Ricketson of Georgetown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Strickland was preceded in passing by her brother, Lavaughn Ricketson.
