Just 67 hours after bringing light into our world, Nora Laine Tucker passed away peacefully in her parents’ arms at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va. Before she came to us, she was loved by so many and admired by her family.
Born two weeks early and weighing 8 pounds, 12 ounces, Nora showed us her strength and delicate features from birth. With a full head of thick brown hair and baby blue eyes, she looked into her Daddy’s eyes as he spoke to her and gripped her Mommy’s finger during her brief stay on earth. She was born at 7:50 p.m. Oct. 27 and became our sweet little angel Oct. 30 at 2:58 p.m. Soon after meeting her big sister and big brother for the first time, she lost her battle to congenital heart disease.
Nora joins her Papa, Steve Allen; her great-grandmother, Sue Allen; her great-grandfather, Cecil Gay Sr.; and her great-grandfather, Carl Marsh, in heaven.
She is survived by her mother and father, Kevin and Staci Tucker; her big sister, Kara Tucker; her big brother, Brasen Tucker; her paternal grandparents, Kevin and Beverly Tucker; and her maternal grandmother, Elaine Allen; paternal great-grandparents, Edwin and Shirley Tucker and Helen Marsh; and her maternal great-grandparents, Harry Allen and Betty Gay. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Kirsten Breeden, Kameron Tucker, Michelle Tucker, Suzanne Edwards, Scott Edwards, Jeremy Allen, Therese Allen, Kelly Allen, Andrew Allen, and all her loving cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations would be accepted by the Children’s Heart Foundation in honor of Nora Laine Tucker.
The family would like to sincerely thank the many doctors, nurses and hospital staff for their dedication and care provided to Nora Laine at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
You will always be our little sunshine.
