Charles W. Waller, 94, of Woodbine passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.
Born Jan. 20, 1924, in Cairo, W. Va., he was the son of the late George William Waller and the late Kate DeVaughn Waller.
Mr. Waller had been a resident of Camden County for the past 11 years. He was retired from the United States Navy with 22 years of service and served his country honorably during World War II, the Korean conflict, and Cuban missile crisis. Following his retirement, he was employed with civil service for 15 years. He enjoyed woodworking and was a master craftsman.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 31. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at 5 p.m. Burial to be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Marianne Waller of Woodbine; children, John “Bill” (Penny) Waller of Jacksonville, Fla., Cheryl Ann Ross of Clute, Texas, Steve (Debbie) Waller of Woodbine and Robyn (John) Sloan of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Shawn (Lauren) Waller, Dustin Waller, Staci (Dan) Dorsey, Jamie (Jason) Beal, Dillon (Jennifer Flagler) Ross, Jennifer (Wade) Harris, Matthew (Joni) Sloan
Christy Dixon and David (Savannah) Dixon; great-grandchildren, Estella, Kate and Maeve Dorsey, Kenneth, Jessica and Miller Sloan, Hailey Meyer, Adrian and Haley Beal, Olivia and Aubrey Dixon, Madalyn and Alaina Dixon, and Natalie Ross.
