Joselyn R. Washington, 64, of St. Marys passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1952, to the late Altermese Roberts and Curtis Edward Washington Sr. in St. Marys. Joselyn was educated in the Camden County school system at Ralph J. Bunche where she graduated in the class of 1971. She furthered her education by attending South Georgia Tech in Americus where she studied cosmetology. Joselyn was a former employee of St. Marys convalescent center as a dietician. Joselyn was a member of First A.B. Church in St. Marys.
Joselyn was preceded in death by both parents, Altermese Roberts-Washington and Curtis Edward Washington Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Shantel (Ronell) Pullins of Kingsland and Olivia Jones of St. Marys; two sisters, Sandrea “Lynn” Woodard (Donald Henderson) of Kingsland and Gwendolyn Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Kevin (Marie) Washington of Salt Lake City, Utah, Curtis Edward (Constance) Washington Jr. of Columbia, S.C., and Elliot Sinclair Washington Sr. of St. Marys; an uncle, Gerald (Betty) Roberts of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Talia and William Jones of St. Marys; a godchild, Christopher Walker of Woodbine; her close friends, Barbara Brown of St. Marys, Mary Starr of Atlanta, Delores Hill of Kingsland, Carolyn Brown of St. Marys, Ada Joseph of Kingsland, Rose Washington of St. Marys, Shelley Rudolph Jr. of Kingsland and Leon Boulware of St. Marys; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at First A.B. Church in St. Marys. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at First A.B. Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
