Jimmy F. Watson “Buddy,” 79, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away peacefully on April 5, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubbard and Coreen Watson.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Watson of Fosters, Ala.; his sister, Mary Watkins; his daughter, Lynn Hopper (Mike Stanley) of Northport, Ala.; sons, Brian F. Watson (Kim) of Kingsland and Billy Johnson (Heather) of Haynesville; his grandchildren, Anna Chandler (Keith), Matthew Hopper, Madison Riggins, Hanna Jade Watson (Nawar), Alyssa Swanson and Abbey Kay Johnson; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Jim was born on July 31, 1938, in Fosters, Ala. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High in 1956. He and Charlotte lived in Camden County for many years and he worked for Gilman Paper Company in St. Marys from about 20 years.
Jim was a loving husband and father. He was a godly man who loved the Lord and was an inspiration to all who met him. He was happiest when he was outdoors hunting, fishing and “piddling.”
A memorial service was held April 21 at Sunset Funeral Home in Northport, Ala.
