Brenda Annette DePew, 70, of Kingsland passed away Thursday, Sept. 9 in Jacksonville, Florida, following an extended illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1950, in Folkston. She was a homemaker and attended the Homeland Holiness Church. Her two loves in life were Jesus and her family.  Her favorite weekend enjoyment was visiting her brother, sisters, aunts and uncles for quality family time.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Jay DePew, and her father, William Smith.

She is survived by her  three children,  Huey Leroy DePew (Jen), William Joseph DePew (Rachel) and Randall Lewis DePew (Adriene); her mother,  Portia Ann O’Berry;  two sisters,  Clenda Westberry (Roy), Sandra Hendrix (Butch); a brother,  Donald Smith (Brenda); eight grandchildren,  Bradley J. DePew (Ashlynn), Savannah L. DePew, William J. DePew II, Lance B. DePew, Chasity R. DePew, Randall D. DePew (Kaylie), Noah M. DePew and Skylar DePew; two great grandchildren, Ryker Orion DePew and Sophia Elizabeth Collins; her feathered child, Rose DePew; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept., 14  at the Homeland Holiness Church with Pastor Tommy Walker officiating.  The family received friends an hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial followed at Brickyard Cemetery in Hilliard, Florida.

Due to Covid-19, the family asked all attendees to please follow the rules of social distancing and face masks were recommended at the service.  Also, anyone who did not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
