Mr. Robert “Bob” Hamlin Jr., 70, passed away late in the evening of Thursday, July 9, 2020, surrounded by his family at home in Kingsland.

Mr. Hamlin was born on May 10, 1950, in Huntington, West Virginia. to the late Robert Hamlin and Dollie Mae Treadway.

Mr. Hamlin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who would always put his family first. He was an employee of James River bag plant for 20+ years. In his youth he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, church life and loved people. His caring nature for his family and friends will never be forgotten. He will be missed greatly by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mr. Hamlin is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Hamlin of Kingsland; his daughters, Frances “Joie” (“Bo”) Adkins and Terri (Larry) Jackson, all of Woodbine; his son, Robert Hamlin of Kingsland; his brother-in-law, Frank Harris of Folkston; his grandchildren, Tamra (Lisa) Bennett of Millwood, Destiney Hamlin of New York, Hannah Jackson, Larry Jackson, Kenneth “Bobo” Adkins, III, and Eathan Adkins, all of Woodbine; his great-grandson, Dallan Jackson of Woodbine; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Mr. Hamlin also joins his sisters, Roberta “Bert” Harris and Deborah “Debbie” Ribley and his brother-in-law, Bernard “Joe” Ribley in Heaven.

A visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. in the Woods-Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home. 

Interment was at Homeward Cemetery in Folkston. Bo Adkins, Bobo Adkins, Dustin Howard, Jerod Adkins, Larry Jackson, and Tommy Davis served as pallbearers. Eathan Adkins was the honorary pallbearer.

Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland is entrusted with Mr. Hamlin’s arrangements.
